MVM Group's policy on its own workforce
The MVM Group strives to improve the working environment for its employees. Employee commitment is key not only to the Group's financial performance, but also to effective cooperation, communication, innovation, and the attraction and retention of talent.
The MVM Group ensures fair remuneration and equal opportunities for all employees.
We apply our own workforce policy in compliance with the Labor Code and other legislation, as well as relevant international conventions, including the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (ECHR), the revised European Social Charter (ESC), the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union (CFR) and the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
The MVM Group’s policy regarding its own workforce is aligned with its social sustainability strategy.
The practical application of the MVM Group's policy on its own workforce is governed by KIE-21, the central directive on the MVM Group's human resources activities, its annexes, the central procedures related to the directive, company regulations, as well as the MVM Group's group-level collective agreement, the MVM Group's group-level social agreements, the local collective agreements and social agreements of individual companies, and the MVM Group's Code of Ethics.
The MVM Group undertakes the following commitments in relation to the significant issues listed below.
Regarding working conditions, the MVM Group undertakes to:
• provide stable, predictable, and secure employment conditions for its employees. The MVM Group undertakes to give preference to permanent employment contracts and to conclude or extend fixed-term employment contracts only when necessary and proportionate;
• aim to ensure fair working time conditions and support the use of flexible working arrangements. To increase satisfaction with working time and scheduling, the MVM Group supports atypical forms of employment (e.g. part-time work), takes employees’ individual needs into account when scheduling working hours, and limits overtime by planning deadlines appropriately;
• pay competitive wages that are commensurate with the employee's capacity to work, are motivating, and provide a secure background. It respects the national minimum wage and the guaranteed minimum wage, as well as the minimum wages set out in the agreements between the social partners in the sectoral agreement;
• recognize the importance and value of direct and constructive dialogue with employees. The Group believes in open and continuous communication between social partners, is committed to keeping employees informed, and consults with partners before making decisions on employment-related matters;
• recognize and respect freedom of association, including the right to form and join trade unions and the right to collective bargaining and collective agreements. The MVM Group maintains a constructive working relationship with trade union representatives, who are informed of any significant operational changes before implementation;
• support employees’ work–life balance. Creating a family-friendly environment is important to the MVM Group, which is why it established the MVM Foundation for Energetic Children, under which MVM nurseries operate;
• provide comprehensive private healthcare and health insurance benefits, including allowing employees time off work to use these services. The MVM Group complies with national and international standards for workplace safety and promotes the continuous improvement of occupational safety and health protection.
Regarding equal treatment and equal opportunities, the MVM Group undertakes to:
• ensure the effective participation of both genders at all levels of decision-making. The MVM Group is committed to equal pay for work of equal value and therefore pays special attention to enforcing equal treatment requirements in its remuneration system;
• continuously develop employees’ skills and abilities and support lifelong learning, career development, and advancement opportunities;
• acknowledge its responsibility towards employees with reduced work capacity and therefore considers it an ongoing task to ensure their smooth integration. The MVM Group strives to provide workplaces adapted to the needs of people with disabilities;
• maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards workplace violence and harassment. The MVM Group provides an environment where employees can freely express concerns, offers an easily accessible and secure channel for anonymously reporting workplace violence or harassment, and thoroughly and objectively investigates all reports;
• recognise the diversity of society both within and outside the company. The organisational culture is therefore characterised by mutual respect, with the aim of creating a workplace where everyone feels safe and diversity is valued;
Furthermore, the MVM Group undertakes to:
• be committed to the elimination of exploitative child labour and ensure compliance with the minimum legal age for employment in each country;
• declare its firm opposition to all forms of forced labour;
• reject all forms of human trafficking and pay particular attention to preventing human trafficking in the course of the Group’s operations;
• follow recruitment practices that respect human rights, prevent exploitation, and protect the dignity of employees. During recruitment, candidates receive accurate information about working conditions, rights, and obligations; employees are free to decide whether to accept the job offer and receive their employment contract and related information in writing;
• support the use of preferential housing options (such as interest-free housing loans and housing allowances) and provide advice on improving energy efficiency;
• be committed to ensuring the protection of personal data. Employees are informed about the most important aspects of data processing in a clear and accessible manner. The MVM Group has data protection officers who are responsible for monitoring compliance with data protection regulations.
The MVM Group defines and publishes traceable indicators and targets that demonstrate its sustainability performance in relation to its own workforce.
The MVM Group reviews its own workforce policy annually, applies it in accordance with internal regulations, and makes it available to everyone on its website in both Hungarian and English. The group-level own workforce policy applies to all group members, and compliance with it is expected from all organizations and employees.
The CEO of the MVM Group and MVM Zrt. assumes responsibility for implementing the policy and takes the necessary steps and measures to ensure its execution.
